Hi! Long time, no see.
After my first couple months blogging in 2020, I was drained. The world got really weird, my job got shaky, and things were just all-around HEAVY. I didn't feel inspired to write or share in a time where things were so messed up. The longer I put off my next post, the more of a failure I felt like for starting something and not sticking with it. A year later, and even though things are not exactly where we hoped they'd be, I am pushing myself to do... something!
Despite the mess that was last year, we found a lot of joy. Here's how we made the most of it.
We put the Hoe (our Tahoe, the dog hauler) to good use and took many road trips around Michigan.
We visited lots of lighthouses.
We saw the Holland tulips in bloom.
We stayed a few nights at The Mackinac House on Mackinac Island.
Joey got me the most epic French macaron cake ever.
We gave our kitchen a makeover.
I went apple picking with my BFF.
We spent a week rock-hounding and exploring in Bay Harbor, Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Harbor Springs. (P.S. I recommend the adorable Afternoon Tea at The Inn at Bay Harbor)
We strengthened our faith by starting a Bible study with some of our friends and also attending Heritage Gatherings.
Our neighborhood chickens, Garth and Dixie, had chicks.
I got to walk through a huge field of sunflowers.
All in all, it wasn't so bad after all. We saw a lot more of our home state and slowed down. Thanks for taking the trip down 2020 memory lane with me. Here's to sharing more in 2021!
